Animal Services Committee - Description

Animal Services Committee Mission Statement

Members of the Animal Services Committee meet with each other - as well as other interested groups bi-monthly, to exchange and discuss local and regional information and ideas concerning the delivery of animal services.  The Committee (where applicable or otherwise requested) advises the Public Safety Policy Committee and the COG Board of Directors on matters pertaining to animal care and control issues.  Areas of responsibility include but are not limited to animal care, animal control, wildlife, disaster planning and response, dangerous animals, humane education and recognition of excellence in the field of animal care and control.

The Animal Services Committee appoints Subcommittees to develop regional policies, plans, agreements, and programs. The Chair of the respective Subcommittees may invite representation from federal, state, regional, and local units, and private citizens relevant to their functional interest, with input from the Committee and other Subcommittee members.
