Water Supply Task Force - Description The Metropolitan Washington Task Force on Regional Water Supply Issues was created through a COG Board Resolution (R37-99) adopted on July 14, 1999 in response to regional drought conditions and questions about the ability of the region's water supply system to meet increased demands in future years. The Task Force includes representatives of all the COG jurisdictions and was initially charged with reviewing existing water supply conditions and arrangements for dealing with drought as well as information on future needs and conditions. The Task Force continues to remain in place in order to ensure effective communication among local governments, state governments, water utilities, and others.
