|Penny Gross is New President Elect of National Association of Regional Councils Board
Fairfax County Vice Chair Penny Gross was elected yesterday as President Elect of the National Association of Regional Councils (NARC) Board of Directors, moving up from her previous position as Senior Vice President.
Gross says she plans to increase membership and diversity in NARC and regional bodies around the country and continue to focus on sound financial management for NARC. She will also work with White House Office of Governmental Affairs to facilitate meetings with regional councils and Senior Executive staff.
NARC serves as the national voice for regionalism by advocating for regional cooperation as the most effective way to address a variety of community planning and development opportunities and issues. NARC represents more than 230 regional councils and metropolitan planning organizations in the United States.
Gross is an active leader in metropolitan Washington and serves on the boards of several regional bodies, including the COG Board of Directors, Northern Virginia Regional Commission, INOVA Health System, and Potomac Watershed Roundtable, where she currently serves as Chair.
COG is a nonprofit association of 22 local governments in the National Capital Region.
