TPB Approves Project Inputs for the 2011 CLRP

At their meeting on March 16, the TPB approved the project submissions for the 2011 Update to the Constrained Long Range Transportation Plan (CLRP), and the amendments to the 2010 CLRP. Following analysis for air quality impacts, the amendments to the 2010 CLRP are expected to be made available for a final public comment period beginning on June 9 with the TPB approving them on July 20. The 2011 CLRP update is scheduled for a final public comment period beginning on October 13 with the TPB approving on November 16.

TPB Hosts TLC Regional Peer Exchange Network

On September 16 at 10:00 a.m., the TPB will host the first event in the Transportation/ Land-Use Connections (TLC) Program's new Regional Peer Exchange Network. The goal of the Peer Exchange Network is to provide a variety of opportunities and media through which to communicate information and best practices on TLC topics. The event will be held at the National Capital Planning Commission at 401 9th Street, NW, Suite 500. Please visit the TLC Regional Peer Exchange Network Kickoff Forum site for more information.

TPB Approves Slate of 15 Projects for Funding under FTA JARC and New Freedom Programs

At its June meeting, the TPB adopted Resolution R20-2011 to approve 15 CY2011 projects for funding under the Job Access and Reverse Commute (JARC) and New Freedom Programs, which are funded by the Federal Transit Administration (FTA). These programs provide funding to improve mobility options of low-income commuters and persons with disabilities. The TPB is the designated recipient of FTA JARC and New Freedom program funding for the Washington DC-VA-MD Urbanized Area. Click here to view the presentation that was delivered to the TPB. Introducing rollDC: DC's First Wheelchair Accessible Taxi Program

rollDClogorollDC is a curb-to-curb service for people who use standard size wheelchairs or scooters and cannot use traditional taxi sedan. Twenty ramp-equipped taxi vehicles are now available for service, operated by Yellow Cab of D.C. and Royal Cab.  The official launch of rollDC was held on May 12 at 10am at 777 North Capital Street, NE, in the plaza outside the building.
